The following photograph was referenced in:

Professor Edmond Paris: "Genocide in Satellite Croatia 1941 - 1945" on page 238.
The caption under the photograph reads (quote):

Victim of a special group of Ustashi called "skull crushers." They used to photograph their deeds to show their chief, the Minister of the Interior, Andrija Artukovic, in the hope of receiving a decoration from him.
(End quote).

NOTE: It is important to know that even though Yugoslav Communists, lead by the Croatian Dictator Tito, downplayed the Ustashi genocide after WWII, many books were written in Tito's Yugoslavia showing some of the Ustashi atrocities. For example, the photograph above is also shown in the book "Otpor golorukih kroz logore" ("Resistance of barehanded in concentration camps"), on page 72. The authors of the book are Djurica Labovic' and Petar Raz"natovic'. The book was published by "Grafika" Belgrade, in 1970.

In this way, if not through horror stories told by their surviving parents, the generation of Serbs born after WWII was acquainted with Ustashi bestialities. One is only to guess how does it feel to be born as a Serb and see this and other photographs. One is only to guess what horror gets in ones bones knowing that - by birth - the person may be sentenced to the same destiny.

In 1941-1945, as well as in 1991-?? the Serbs were sentenced to death or exodus just because they were born as Serbs.

In 1991-??, once again Ustashi used hammers to crush Serbian heads.
